Safe Kids Sonoma County focuses on the leading injury areas. The coalition reviews safety data on an ongoing basis to be sure it addresses real-life causes of injury. Currently in Sonoma County:

The leading causes of injury hospitalizations to children under 15 are:

1. Falls
2. Motor vehicle collisions
3. Bicycle crashes
4. Poisonings

And the leading causes of death are:

1. Motor vehicle collisions
2. Drownings
3. Poisonings
4. Pedestrian vs. motor vehicle collisions
