Swimming Pool and Spa Safety Act of 2006
AB2977 (MULLIN) Swimming Pool and Spa Safety legislation
The following new law requires homeowners to install at least one
of seven specified drowning prevention safety features, such as a
pool cover, for new or remodeled pools, taking effect January 1, 2007. This
bill is aimed at lessening the prevalence of child drowning, which
has increased in recent years.
