Programs: Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety >> Helmet BankHerb Greenberg Helmet BankHelmets are a childs best protection from brain injury when riding a bike, scooter, skateboard, or roller blades. By law, all children ages 18 and under are required to wear a helmet when doing these activities. Safe Kids Sonoma County’s Helmet Bank provides free bike helmets to schools and organizations that can correctly fit and distribute them to children from low-income households. These can be distributed as part of a health fair, bicycle education program, or during a bike rodeo event.
